Pan American Society for Clinical Virology Membership Information and Benefits

The primary goals of PASCV are to:
1. Foster the development of new techniques and quality control in diagnostic virology
2. Promote and support education and research in clinical and diagnostic virology
3. Facilitate communication among professionals in clinical and diagnostic virology.

PASCV Membership
The benefits of PASCV membership include receipt of the newsletter, access to the Listserver, discounted subscription to the Journal of Clinical Virology, and discounted registration fee for the Molecular Virology Workshop.

Members include practicing physicians, laboratory directors, research virologists, and laboratory technologists and technicians. More than 400 members from North, Central and South America and the Caribbean comprise the membership of PASCV. In addition, members of the European and Asian Societies for Clinical Virology may also join PASCV. Membership fees are $25/year or $250 for a lifetime membership.

If you would like to join, please print the PASCV membership form and mail the form with your payment to the Secretary/Treasurer whose name and address are given on the form.

PASCV Newsletter
A newsletter is mailed to members twice a year.

Clinical Virology Symposium
The Clinical Virology Symposium, sponsored by the University of South Florida in cooperation with PASCV, is held annually at Daytona Beach, Florida, in late April or early May. The annual general business meeting of PASCV is held at that time.

Dr. Steven Specter, the Symposium Chairman, sends out an announcement and program to all PASCV members in January to February of each year.

Molecular Virology Workshop
An annual Molecular Virology Workshop, which is sponsored by PASCV and the University of South Florida, is held on the two days preceding the Clinical Virology Symposium. A discount on the registration fee is given to PASCV members. For more information, click on Molecular Virology Workshop.

PASCV Website and Listserver
The PASCV web page is maintained by Dr. David Myerson at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and includes links to the PASCV Listserver and to other virology sites. The URL is www.virology.org/listserver.html. The PASCV Listserver can be used to send messages and inquiries to other PASCV members.

Affilated Journal Discount
PASCV members receive a discount on subscriptions to The Journal of Clinical Virology, the affiliated journal of the Society. Cost to PASCV members is US $80 annually.
